  • Hi tibewww,

Can you please provide your exact unsubscribe link. Normally this error happen if your Query string is wrong or email not available in your subscriber list. Thanks

Same issue here. Everything works perfectly – testing unsubscribe last and it’s not working…client want’s to go live soon! lol.

Anyone have a solution? Error is:
Oops.. We are getting some technical error. Please try again or contact admin.

    My link is:

    https://www.mysite.com/?es=unsubscribe&db=###DBID###&email=###EMAIL###&guid=###GUID###

    Thanks

Just noticed if I use the standard unsubscribe text it works fine…If I try to use the link provided as part of the customizing the template then it doesn’t work. When I see the link in the URL bar it seems to not be grabbing the DBID or the GUID only the email address.

Hope this helps – would like to figure out a way to have the unsubscribe link custom to match the rest of the email.

    Thanks

Also noticed I’m not getting the notification sent report or the new subscriber emails…I have another install I was testing on that’s working fine but my live environment isn’t working.

For notification emails, check your setting
    https://ps.w.org/email-subscribers/assets/screenshot-4.png?rev=1216168

Mail to admin: To send admin notifications for new subscriber, This option must be set to YES.

    For unsubscribe link :
    File : classes/es-sendmail.php
Variable to be verified : $unsublink

Mail to admin IS set to yes. weird

I’m having the same problem as here, but with my subscribe confirmation link. Whenever I click on the link (I haven’t touched the settings at all; they’re just the default ones), I get the “Oops.. We are getting some technical error. Please try again or contact admin” message. Which, by the way, is the messages supposed to be shown when issues with UNsubscribing, not when subscribing.
    Any guess?
    To test: https://en.freelander.es/subscribe

Update: the plugin does NOT let me change the subscribe / unsubscribe links. If once I get the opt-in confirmation email I copy–>paste–>modify–>submit, then it works. (That’s because my blog has two sub-domains, “en” and “es”, one for English and one for Spanish). When installing and activating the plugin, it omits the subdomain for the subscription/unsubscription links. But, as I say, I can’t change it. If I try to save the changes, they revert to default settings.
    Any help?

    Hi zogoibi,

With regards to ‘Oops.. We are getting some technical error. Please try again or contact admin’ error, can you please tell me exact steps to reproduce the issue on my end.

Also, with regards to NOT allowing you to change the subscribe / unsubscribe links, plugin doesn’t allow you to change those links and ideally you shouldn’t change them too. Can you please tell me why you want to change those links and also provide us your use case so that we can help you in a better way.

Hello and thanks for your reply.

First off, a suggestion: if plugin doesn’t allow to change (un)subscription links, perhaps you might consider not showing them in an editable box. It’s misleading for the user, who thinks (like me) it can be edited and then wonders why he can’t.

The reason why I wanted to change the links is related with the error itself. I’ll try to explain:

As said, when clicking the link in the subscription confirmation mail, I get the aforementioned error. The link’s URL is of the form https://freelander.es/whatever-else.
If, instead of simply clicking on it, I copy/paste the URL to my browser’s address bar and, before submitting, edit it so as to include the language subdomain (for instance https://en.freelander.es/whatever-else), then everything works fine.
Therefore, if I could modify the link’s URL structure in the settings (for including the language subdomain), everything would work fine. But the plugin doesn’t allow.

As to steps to reproduce, I suppose you’d need a multilingual blog set up the way mine is: language by subdomain. WordPress 3.9. Then install your plugin and just try to subscribe to it “from outside”, as a reader.

In any case, I’ve finally opted for updating to WP 4.2, and now the plugin works fine. But the bug is still there, of course, for WP 3.9 users.

    Hi,

With regards to, subscribe/unsubscribe links not showing in an editable box, we will surely consider your valuable suggestion and will add support for it.

Also, we will investigate as to why it is not working correctly with WP 3.9. And, as far as editing the link’s URL structure, we will discuss within team and then will decide whether to add it or not.

    Hi,

    @waswaken,

Please post your own topic. Do not jump into other topic.

Also, the error that you have told, it is an image. De-activate all your plugins and then check.
