Hello,
Cool plugin, thank you for the video tutorial.
May an e-mail be designed that notifies users of only replies to the comments they left?
How many users unsubscribe to the e-mails?Thank you,
Valerie

Hi @vevans2,
Thanks for your message.Yes, you’ll need to set-up the Comment Reply notification.
Currently, there is no unsubscribe feature in BNFW but I’m looking to add one, most likely as an add-on.Hope this helps.
Thanks,
JackHello, please i mistakely subscribed this support forum and cannot find where to unsubscribe.
Help me please!
thank you
Hi Jack, great plugin – just what I need, except for one thing that I’m afraid is a deal-breaker ??
I desperately need for the notification email to have an unsubscribe link. I can see members of a large site getting really fed-up if they’re not interested in the receiving these notifications.
Any idea how long before this feature will be available?
Many thanks
Rob.Hi @godrob,
No timeframe yet but it’s definitely something I want to work on this year. Thanks,
JackI am using the BNFW plugin for a day and everything is working for me except a fact that the plugin is ignoring the user settings “Accept to receive post or page notification emails”. If the plugin would check this option before sending an email to the user, the unsubscribe option would not be necessary.
Is there a way to make this plugin follow the user settings?
This is a very important issue for me because in Canada we are not allowed to send emails to the users without their consent. We can be fined for doing that.
And one more note about a small bug: if I use the [global_user_lastname] shortcode and there is no data in that field, instead of showing nothing, the email shows the [global_user_lastname] text. Not a big deal, just a glitch.Hi @ashmtl,
Is the “Accept to receive post or page notification emails” a field that you’ve added to the user’s profile? I ask because BNFW doesn’t have any opt-in/out settings at this time so it’s not a field that is added by BNFW. It might have been added by another plugin however.I’m aware of a small bug with the global shortcodes on certain notifications and will be fixed in the next version, due out soon.
Thanks,
JackHi Jack,
I think it might be added by the email users plugin.
Can you use those settings?
If not, we can always add a field of your choice to the profile.
This is an important issue that will decide the use of your plugin.Ash

Hi @ashmtl,
It’s very much something that I want to add in and as soon as I can. I’m currently developing two new add-ons and it will most likely come as an add-on after this.I have an idea for a good implementation that is more streamlined with the rest of the plugin so want to use this as opposed to creating something using other plugins too.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks,
JackIt does. And there is no problem to pay for it. Just the timing is crucial.
I will be looking for another plugin to use while you are working on this one. I really appreciate the good work you are doing on the free part plus the documentation. Haven’t seen anything similar yet.
What I mentioned pulls some legal strings, so I will be disabling the plugin before the add-on is ready.
Please notify when it is ready.
Regards,
Ash.Hi @ashmtl,
That’s understandable and thanks for your kind words regarding the plugin. To find out when this add-on becomes available please consider signing-up to the mailing list.
Thanks,
JackThe reality is that I had to activate again the plugin even there is no unsubscribe option, because I couldn’t find any other plugin that will work so good as this one. So far my Canadian members didn’t complain. After few days and plowing through many plugins I tested three and neither one worked for me. My members are not very computer literate and everything I can ask them to do is to put a check-mark “Here”…
Please add the “subscribe to comment notifications” option button as an additional field in the user profile as soon as you can. Just a simple yes or no. No need of checking through posts or comment types…Thank you,
Ash.New discovery in the plugin functionality that led to deactivation again:
The comment will be sent to everyone even if it is in “Pending approval” status.
I think this problem has to be addressed immediately.
I am blocking the comments that include certain F and S words.
To my surprise the comment was emailed to every member!Ashod.
Hi @ashmtl,
That’s correct – new comment notifications are for New Comments / Awaiting Moderation. As such, these notifications are being sent as expected. The combination of these notifications is due to a restriction in WordPress and not BNFW.
If the above answer is not satisfactory, please start a new topic regarding this.
Hope this helps a bit.
Thanks,
Jack
