Unsightly Categories: Uncategorized – Edited

  • No easy way to remove the unsightly Categories from displaying if you are not using them. Plugin is amazing other than that but one little option checkbox ruined it from creating a nice plugin. There is so many people asking how to remove it for the last year or more, but author has yet to add that option. Posts are everywhere how to manually edit the CSS code but the author has yet to get the hint.

    A one star rating for a plugin you say “is amazing“?

    I respectfully ask you to reconsider the star rating.

    Adding a feature or option few a dozen or so out of tens of thousands when focus on features and enhancements is better spent.

    As for showing “Categories: Uncategorized” for entries that were not assigned a category … there are several ways to remove it ranging from being as simple as bit of CSS, purchasing one of the premium templates (none of which show the category info at all), editing the template (which can be in an update safe way)

    …

    so you see, there are actually many ways to deal with it ranging from simple to complex, free and paid.

    I know it has been awhile but I’d like to ask again that you reconsider your one-star rating for a plugin you say “is amazing“.

    In addition to the previous methods of removing the Uncategorized category, you can now change the default category to be any category you wish. You can even delete the Uncategorized category if you want. This feature was added months ago.

    Recently another major new feature has been added, the Template Customizer. The free templates have been updated to take full advantage of this great new feature. What this feature allows is an interactive point and click interface to configure dozens of template options, one of which is to whether the categories should be displayed or not.

    I hope you find these two features and the many other that have been added since your review truly useful and make this already amazing plugin even better.

    Where do I do this? I will if I could find it. I considered it last time but there was not a spot to change the star rating. – DONE you have to add #postform to the end of the address in the address bar while reviewing the plugin main page.

    This isn’t as discoverable as it could be, but once you know where to find it, it is very easy.

    In the right-hand column between the Ratings section and the Support section there is a My Rating section.

    To change your rating, click the number of stars you feel the plugin deserves.
