I installed a Youtube API Key successfully a few days ago. Yesterday, it stopped working. Found out I had maxed out my quota. I don’t see how that’s possible. The site is under construction, and only one other person has access to the wordpress dashboard and the site as it is being built. But sure enough, my api key quota chart shows that I had over 1,000,000 queries yesterday. I figures I was victim of quota theft (whatever that is). So…I tried to set restrictions on the Key…I set it to HTTP Referrers and entered my domain in the referrer field. Now nothing works.

I’ve removed the restriction, and everything works again.

How can set restrictions on my api key? You have no video for instruction in doing that.

Or, do you have any other explanation how I could have experienced 1 million queries when only 2 people have access to the site?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello there,

That’s pretty strange indeed to have that many queries on your quota if you created a SERVER key, not a BROWSER key. You definitely need to create a SERVER key.

Once you do that, then you can put IP restrictions on it, not HTTP REFERRER restrictions. For IP server restrictions, you’ll have to enter in the IP address of your hosting server (which seems like it’s this: 198.71.233.141).

    Hope that helps,
    EmbedPlus Team
