Unrequested Manage Your Subscriptions Emails

  • I am getting an odd behavior. I just updated to Subscribe To Comments Reloaded version 2.0.3. This morning and yesterday morning I received emails from the site with subject “Manage your subscriptions on Jeffs Classic Arcade” and message “You have requested to manage your subscriptions to the articles on Jeffs Classic Arcade. Follow this link to access your personal page:” with a link to a management page that shows no actual subscriptions.

    The email address it sent the email to was my work address, which as far as I can tell has no subscriptions.

    Any ideas?

  • I think that some one used your email in the form that is showed when the manage subscriptions page is visited by a not logged user.

    I am now getting three emails back-to-back every morning. Yesterday I tried to change the permalink address to the manage page, and the new address is being sent in the new emails. I also subscribed and unsubscribed to a post just to try to ‘reset’ it but it didn’t help. Any other ideas what I can do? I don’t want to remove the plugin but I need to make sure my site isn’t sending out faulty emails!

    Is there any easy way to backup the subscriptions, delete the plugin, reinstall the plugin, then import the subscriptions back into the database?

    Jeff, I got the same issues here: Some of the people that left a comment on one of my clients Website complain on receiving three “Manage your subscription” – E-Mails a day with link to subscription page. As it is three e-mails, exactly as with you, this seems to be a bug in the system?

    Odd behaviour: Even after completely removing the e-mail-adresses from the database, the e-mails kept on sending.

    I’d be glad to learn when this issue has been settled.

    I can confirm that this is happening to me as well. WordPress 3.6.1, plugin 2.0.3.

    A user that appears four times in my database, all four times with status “N”, is receiving unrequested “You have requested to manage your subscription” emails. My mail logs show that usually two emails are sent at a time, 1-3 times per day.

    The last time this user commented was years before I even installed this plugin.
