    Hi.
Each time I update that plugin at the moment it results in an “unreadable token file”. The issue can be resolved by chmodding the directory wp-content/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/captcha to 777.

This seems to happen every time I update to the version released 2014-12-23 from the version before. That’s why I’m not doing all of them at once – I was hoping another update would fix this, but it seems nobody told you about that and so you’re unaware that happens ??

I also suggest adding the solution to the FAQ. Can’t remember where I found it. Probably in this forum, but not in the FAQ ??

    Best regards

Oh, OH! Sorry, there is an error in my initial post. The directory that needs 777 is the cache within the path I wrote:

    wp-content/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/captcha/cache

My question is still valid, I always do that to the cache directory, not the captcha directory.

After thinking about it, there’s probably nothing the plugin author can do about that. Watching the update in progress I learned that the plugin is actually deleted and then the new version is installed (I always thought it would be overwritten, but I can see why that wouldn’t be ideal either).

The cache directory needs access rights that depend on the system setup. It can’t know which when installing. And even if: The plugin is not installing itself, so it couldn’t influence that anyways.
