    Hi there,

We were pushed to switch to the new PayPal plugin, but now our check out no longer works.

    The error received is:
[UNPROCESSABLE_ENTITY] The requested action could not be performed, semantically incorrect, or failed business validation. https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/orders/v2/#error-CANNOT_BE_NEGATIVE

It looks like there are a lot of errors that are similar, but I cannot find this CANNOT BE NEGATIVE one on the forum – could someone help please? Our customers are not happy that PayPal no longer works, and of course neither are we given we were pushed to this new plugin that isn’t doing its job!

    Cheers,

    Geoff

    Hello @gmo81

thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

This issue was reported to us via other channels and is known to us. There are some causes for this issue:
    1) free trial for subscriptions not allowed
    2) smart buttons not hidden when 100% coupon code is applied
    3) plugin conflict: discount code applied as order amount value

So there are some options here of what is causing the issue, but the bottom line of this issue is that a discount is being applied to a product and currently our plugin does not allow 0 or negative payments to be processed.

In order to give you a more complete response, we would need to see your system report and possibly the logs that these failures generated. You can copy the logfiles from here:
    – WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support
    – WooCommerce > Status > Logs > select “woocommerce-paypal-payments-integration-\[…\]” in the dropdown and click on view.
If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

Thanks for the prompt response. In this case, a discount is being applied, but it is not at $0 or below $0 in total. It is a discount by 10% of the value of the order total, using a plugin.

We do not offer free trial subscriptions either, I’m unclear why that’s important… although I’m sure there’s some assumption in the code there based on what you’re saying there.

I’ll log a case. I’m happy to work with you to debug this. I’m a dev too, but haven’t poked at your code here just yet.

    Geoff
