Hi, I am at the process of cleaning up wp_postmeta and as it seems there are thousands of completely uneccessary rows of rank_math content. Of course some of these are needed, but having 30k of index/no-index or 30k the same string, 9k times “1” etc seem sloppy and shall be avoided. For example: Since 99,99% of pages that are accessed in rankmath are index, there is no need to put a key at all for this, only add no-index if user presses no index button. Or having 9k times rank_math_internal_links_processed with “1”. Change these in next update! https://imgur.com/a/urMqnrG

    Hello @chrismask,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

rank_math_robots key is only generated when you set the robots tag manually for a post. If you use the default value from the global settings, then the key will not be there. So our implementation is already focused on avoiding unnecessary generation of meta keys and only adding them when they are needed.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need our assistance with anything else.

Should I go on and delete all the default same ones? Also what about the processed internal links key? Can it be avoided?

    Hello @chrismask,

If you delete the rank_math_robots meta key then the default value set for robots meta in the Titles & Meta settings of our plugin will be applied. You can check the robots meta settings for each post type in WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Post Types.

The internal links key is used for the Link Counter module of our plugin. You can learn more about it here: https://rankmath.com/kb/link-counter/

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
