• Is there a list of WordPress files anywhere, explaining what they do? I use only a basic WP format for my blog, since I do not use the “post a comment” mode at all. I would like to delete all “comment” and related WP files from my WP directories that are unnecessary if I only post information. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

  • delete wp-trackback.php

    delete wp-comments-post.php

    delete xmlrpc.php

delete wp-admin/install* (all the files related to installing)

    delete wp-admin/upgrade.php

    delete wp-admin/import/ (the entire dir)

    look inside wp-includes/

the file names are pretty straightforward.. no comments means prolly no registration, so you can dele the registration* files

as to your question, no there isnt, but if you look at the filenames, the ones that serve specific purposes are aptly named.

    Hello from Wiesbaden…

Not trying to be a pain, but you’re going to need to remove these files anytime you upgrade. You may also find plugins that, for odd reasons, depend on certain files.
