XML Feeds might not be created correctly because WP Cron is disabled

    – this notice is persistant wordpress and it originated from CR plugin.
    – We use server cron, instead of wp cron
    – Cron is running fine and we wish to dismiss this notice, which has no such option.

    Please help and fix this.

  • Hi,

Thank you for using CusRev and for your feedback.

Our plugin requires WP Cron enabled to schedule functions to generate the feeds daily. If it is disabled, there will be a notification message is shown in the admin area. I will inform the development team to consider supporting a filter to change the message.

I’d also like to tip my hat into this discussion. I agree with bling007 – this notice should be able to be dismissed if necessary. Examples why it should be dismissed:

    1. Using an external cron job, or
    2. Both ‘Generate Product Feed‘ and ‘Generate Product Review Feed‘ are unselected

I’m guessing Cusrev developers don’t know much about Linux / Unix systems.

We have server cronjobs performing these tasks, as it is superior to WP Cron.

Please remove this annoying false positive banner. It’s a pia.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for highlighting this issue!

The notice will be shown only on the Google feeds page and only when at least one of the feeds is enabled. This correction was implemented in the version 4.38. Please update the plugin and let us know in case of any issues.
