    Dear readers,

I have an problem that 2 of our public IP-adresses are blocked because of a wrong attempt. Via a hotspot of my mobile I could log on.

First of all I get the message that access from your IP address has been blocked. And I could request a unlock. I fill in the right e-mailaddress and press “Send Unlock Request”.

Then I get a message “Error: No locked entry was found in the DB with your IP address range!

When I log on with my hotspot I see that both addresses are blocked.
So first I added both to the white list for the next time and activate this.

The on the page Dashboard > Locked IP addresses I tried to unlock both addresses. I get the message for both if I am sure.

I say yes, in the top of the screen I see “The selected IP entries were unlocked successfully!. but below they are still in the list. What occurs to me is that the “Release Date” time is changed to the time from the unlock action.

And this goes on and on. So not possible to unlock. I have an WordPress multisite. I tried also to network deactivate and network activate again. But then it still happens.

To could work on the site I have deactivated the plugin right now. But I hope somebody have a solution to get it running?

Thanks in advance. If more information is needed don’t hesitate to ask.

    Dave

    Hi Dave,
    Thanks for the detailed info.
I will take a closer look at the unlock feature when used in multi-site to see if I can reproduce it.
In the meantime instead of leaving the plugin deactivated have you considered disabling the login lockdown feature temporarily? (To protect yourself against brute force you could use the rename login page feature in its place)

    Hi,

Sorry that information I forgotten to write. I had deactivated the lockdown function. But this is won’t help. IP is still locked also after longer time.

Did you try deleting those IP addresses instead of “unlocking” in the “Locked IP Addresses” tab of the Dashboard menu? This should permanently release those IPs.

    Dear wpsolutions,

I just activate the plugin again and the locked IP-addresses are gone.
So it looks like problem is gone after 1 day.

    Thanks for the help.
