I am noticing when testing our page loads in GT Metrix that one of the top issues is “unloading event listeners”. The url is from Paypal.com.

When I deactivate the plugin, this error disappears. Is this something that can be changed to correct the error? Also is there a way to lesson the amount of requests, we see eleven, to Paypal or are all of those needed for the plugin to function properly?

Hi @fooey,

PayPal Payments only loads PayPal scripts when neccessary.
However, in the previous version 1.9.1 there was a bug that could lead to the PayPal scripts being loaded on pages without the buttons. This was resolved with the latest update 1.9.2, so please update the plugin to the latest version.

But when the Mini Cart button is enabled, the scripts will still load on every page of your site because the Mini Cart is present on almost every page: Why are PayPal scripts loading on every page of my site (frontend)?

Hi @fooey,

As per the documentation:

Unload Event Listener warnings on sites like GTmetrix may be caused by the PayPal scripts loading on your main page, e.g. due to the Mini Cart button being enabled.

You may get this warning when the PayPal scripts are loaded on your (main) page. In that case, you must decide between accepting the warning or disabling the smart buttons on the non-checkout pages.

actually I think that has been resolved also, I am not seeing it in the report now after running the update. Great!

Hi @fooey,

The bug from the previous version 1.9.1 which I mentioned above could cause these warnings on sites like GTmetrix.
But it should not be an issue anymore with the latest update 1.9.2.

I’m seeing this with 1.9.5

Seeing this on my home page woocommerce with paypal 1.9.5

There are no paypal buttons on the main page.
