Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-admin/.pid ? what is this file?

1. delete it.
2. install a plugin like WordFence and scan your site to see if there’s more evidence of a possible hack.

Hi, I have seen a site where this same file has popped up. I had a search through the sites code and found a plugin called Litespeed Cache that would be capable of creating that filename.

I wondered if your site was or had previously been using the plugin called Litespeed Cache as well.

Same problem me too: WordFence found a .pid file on a website I manage.

The webiste has LiteSpeed ??Cache installed.

I am developer working on LiteSpeed Cache plugin.
Yes, is true LSC is creating .pid files but we do not create it in wp-admin. The location is in our folder(in wp-content).

Same for me. The file was inside wp-admin

let’s look over LSC code. the only place where we use(create/use) the .pid files is in crawler class.

The directory in which we create files is setup in class: https://github.com/litespeedtech/lscache_wp/blob/master/src/crawler.cls.php#L1178 Which points to our “wp-content/litespeed/” folder.
