Unknown file in WordPress core

  • Hi,

    I’m using the last version of Wordfence (6.2.3) and I have a problem since a few months.
    The scan results alerts about a lot of unknown files in WordPress core.

    Exemple : Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-admin/maint/libs/smartylibs/internals/core.smarty_include_php.php

    I just have emailed the activity log.

    Is there a way to fix this problem ?

  • I’d start by reinstalling WP Core. That’ll likely wipe out anything which shouldn’t be there.

    Then I’d run a new scan.
