Unknown Error in tikz images after WP update

    This page was working without errors.
    I then updated my WP installation and then made some edits to the page (only text content, no changes to any of the latex formulas).
    After saving the changes I noticed that all the tikz images have a parse error with “unknown error” message. All the rest works fine. Also, pages that were not edited after the update were not affected.

    For future reference, what was the issue, and is it something I can fix on my own?

    No, the cause was on our side/server. Module responsible for tikz compilation was not responding for some reason. Let us know if you see something like this in future.
