• Hello,
I had a personal website hosted on Hostinger that I started a couple months ago and I really did it wrong so I wanted to start again from scratch now that Im learning WordPress. I downloaded a plugin to reset my site because not knowing how WordPress worked it was all a mess and I wanted a clean slate.

Since then, I can’t log in on my admin page, it says that my email does not exist anymore. I tried deleting cache, to change my plugin and theme folders names in my file manager to see if there was any interference, but nothing is working.

I’m guessing this has something to do with me resetting stuff but I don’t know what exactly and how to fix it.

Check/Change Email in database: You can update the admin email for your site in the wp_options table, and replace the email address in the row with the key “admin_email”.

    Hello!
Following your instructions, I did replace my email address under admin_email in the wp_options in my database, but I still can’t access my admin page. I still get the error message: Unknown email address. Check again or try your username.

Unknown email address. Check again or try your username

Have tried the username (if you know it)?

Username is also stored in the users table. To change /check username, click the edit button (the pencil icon) next to your user and change what is entered into the user_login field.
