    Hi there,

    I hope you are well.

Since integrating Yoast, I have an unknown/dynamic URL being called.

It shows when auditing my site with Screaming Frog and also WebSite Auditor.

This is the unknown URL >> https://www.maxjacobs.com.au/?taxonomy=nav_menu&term=main-menu-new

Hoping you can help me figure out why this URL is being called.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,
    MJ

    Hi @maxwelljacobs

Do you mean to say when you activate the Yoast SEO plugin, this URL https://www.maxjacobs.com.au/?taxonomy=nav_menu&term=main-menu-new is being generated on your website?

If you were to temporarily deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin, does this URL then not load as expected?

We’re not aware of the Yoast SEO plugin creating these sort of URLs on a website.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for getting back to me.

    Yes that is correct.

Before installing Yoast, this URL was not being generated.

After installing Yoast, this URL is now being generated.

However, considering you haven’t come across this issue before, I might need to dig deeper than the standard troubleshooting measures you mentioned.

    Thanks,
    MJ

    Hi @maxwelljacobs

Could you perform a conflict check and start with a default WP theme such as TwentyTwenty and only the Yoast SEO plugin enabled? Does the URL then generate as expected?

If it doesn’t, then we would recommend enabling your plugins, one by one, and then your preferred theme, until you are able to reproduce the issue.

We don’t believe this to be generated by the Yoast SEO plugin, but please do perform the conflict check so you can narrow it down as to whether it might be coming from another plugin or theme on your setup – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/
