• I have a few WordPress websites that all seem to run a bit slow, despite using a caching plugin (wp-super cache). They are on shared hosting, so that plays a part too.

I’ve been using Firefox’s Firebug NET tab to check the loading time for each database request, and noticed that most of the pages, images, and/or javascript files show a 301 redirect status, which adds 10-15 more seconds of loading time until it successfully loads the page and files (200 status), which can take 20-25 seconds total.

Here is a sample site I’m currently working on with this problem.

Is this a Worpdress configuration setting problem? Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on why its doing this?

    Thanks.

  • I am experiencing the same issue. I have created many other WP custom themes, and have not had this problem. But I used a free template from WP for https://www.rnrbob.com and I am having this issue with the site. Have you resolved this issue? Or can anyone help?

    Thanks!

I haven’t found the reason why it’s doing that, nor a good solution for increasing speed. The only thing I can think of is that GoDaddy’s shared hosting service (which the website uses) is inadequate, seeing that they have thousands of websites on the same server. Better hosting is all I can think of. Hope you figure it out. Good luck!

I have a wp. org template I am running it on a network solution host with Go daddy domain registrar. I noticed my site is getting slower and slower. I just recently updated to 3.1… ended up here on a google search? No luck with different host BTW.
