Unknown 25+ second on initial load of my WordPress website

  • Im running this wordpress website in a dedicated Server. I understand its heavy and ive removed all caching plugin for testing. I dont understand why it takes 23 sec just to reach the domain name ( as checked on gtmetrix-waterfall ) and there appears to be 500 error while reaching the domain ( as checked on https://loadimpact.com/ ).

    What could be the issue ? Please guide me? Any help is appreciated

  • It seems to run fairly well from here…

    I think I’d move it to Cloudflare to get their better DNS service for free. If that Hostwinds server can keep up with Cloudflare then you’ll know you are running fast enough. If you start getting a lot of 500 errors from Cloudflare then grab a faster server box.

    You’ll know the 500 errors are from Cloudflare if you see a ‘ray id’ on the 500 error page. If you see that then turn off the Cloudflare proxy in the Cloudflare Dashboard. Stay on their DNS and turn the proxy back on once you get the server issues fixed in that case.

    You might ask Hostwinds for their advice also.

    You had several 404 issues that need to be discovered and fixed. Try the server error log.
