    Hello,

I’m using UPM with “Pay by card” deactivated.

However, today when doing some checks I noticed that the card form appears in my UPM choices (called “Other payments methods”).

Why is that? It only just started appearing today. Before it worked as expected, only showing the choices I selected for “other payment methods”, without card.

I’ve tried disabling and enabling everything from the plugin and from Stripe as well, but nothing changed.

    Hi @vladc-1

If the card option only just started appearing today, that would indicate something on your site or in your Stripe account changed.

I’ve tried disabling and enabling everything from the plugin and from Stripe as well

Can you provide more details on what you enabled/disabled in your Stripe account?

    Kind Regards

I didn’t really touch the plugin for the past days. I started troublshoothing once I saw the problem.

In Stripe I tried disabling and enabling “Cards”. It was left as disabled to see if anything changes. I see that nothing did, the issue still persists.

I tried the same in the plugin by disabling and enabling “Pay by card”. Nothing changed. Here are my full setting in the plugin as well.

It doesn’t make any sense to me as to why this is happening. Aren’t these the only places where this card option can be enabled in UPM?

    Hi @vladc-1

Let me take a look and try to replicate this behavior and then I will update this thread.

    Kind Regards

    Hi @vladc-1

After some testing we have an answer why this behavior is happening. In Stripe’s API, if you attempt to disable the card option, but have Apple Pay or GPay enabled, it will trigger an error, thus resulting in the settings not being saved.

This is because Stripe’s requires the payment_method_type="card" to be enabled in the Stripe account when Apple Pay and GPay are enabled.

We’re looking for a workaround and will include Stripe’s engineering team if needed.

    Kind Regards

I see that this was resolved with the new update! Thanks for that!
