    I’ve upgraded my tracking to Universal from the Analytics account. When I try to validate the code I get the following error: “Your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support for the Demographics and Interest reports”. I’ve unchecked it in the plugin settings and saved then rechecked and resaved. I don’t think there is any code I have to update or add right?

  • Also waiting for the Google UA to be updated in this plugin. ??

    Hi dr.user,

    This is done, as of 2.1.5 — update if you haven’t yet!

    My bad… Auto update glitch. I’ll await GA to update on this site. Thanks!

    Is there something missing for the Demographics and Interests though?

    I just checked another site that did catch the update update with UA however still shows the following:

    Your Demographics and Interest Reports have been enabled, but your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support to show them. Learn more about the simple, one-line, one-time change to your tracking code to add this support.

    Hi dr.user,

    What’s your site? Make sure you check the box that says ‘”Display Advertising” Tracking’.

    O.K… I’ve checked that box off:
    “Display Advertising”(Support for Doubleclick Display Advertising tracking)

    I’ll wait now to see if GA will update over the next few days.

    Thanks.

    Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but with 2.1.5 GA insists tracking code changes need to be made (I have reentered my GA ID, enabled UA and Display Advertising Tracking).

    I can confirm the analytics.js script appears in the source.

    See https://www.guysmith.org for the test case.

    Hi guyshomenet,

    Thanks for that; if you can tell me what that tracking code change is, I’d be happy to look into it. It looks correct to me as per this documentation that Google has for it.

    @peter, it looks like this may have been induced by the problem Google was having yesterday. Before Google Analytics rejected validation, but today it worked. Go figure.

    Thanks for responding. Looking forward to the new data.

    Awesome, thanks for the feedback; yes, it looks like they’ve been busily updating things lately.

    This is what my GA says to change: one-line, one-time change to your tracking code (BOLDED)

    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i[‘GoogleAnalyticsObject’]=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
    })(window,document,’script’,’//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js’,’ga’);
    ga(‘create’, ‘UA-XXXXXX-XX’, ‘example.com’);
    ga(‘require’, ‘displayfeatures’);
    ga(‘send’, ‘pageview’);

    Thanks.

    Hi dr.user,

    See above, the bolded part is what should get added when you check the box that says “”Display Advertising”(Support for Doubleclick Display Advertising tracking)”, assuming you have the latest release of the plugin as well.

    Yeah still a no go… Completely removed and reinstalled the plugin and still receive this from GA:

    “Your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support for the Demographics and Interest reports.”

    Is this located in the “aioseop_class.php”? Where and what can I manually edit to correct? I realize manually correcting the issue will need to be redone in future updates.

    As well when removing the plugin via WordPress does it clear all the information from the DB?

    Thanks.

    Hi dr.user,

    This should work, so I don’t know what you’d manually edit. What is the url of your site? Make sure you have entered your tracking code, selected the appropriate type of tracking, and have checked the box that says “”Display Advertising”(Support for Doubleclick Display Advertising tracking)”. Removing the plugin via WordPress does not clear any information from the DB.

    Sorry, I’m unable to post a URL… I’ll just disable the aio analytics portion, and add the tracking code directly to the header.

    Thanks for the input.
