    Heja Dan,

I do not seem able to manage to get the plugin working for Universal Analytics and GA4 in parallel. GA4 works (G-xxx (v4 API)), but whatever other setting I test for UA-yyy (v3 API), its either Universal Analytics or GA4 that is not working; Universal Analytics is connected to GA4 via tag in analytics.

    thanks for advising.

  • Same issue!
I need both analytics and gtag-4 to be served locally.

    Nevermind, find the solution.

Use GA4 tag instead of analytics regular tag in the Google for WooCommerce.
In GA configure them to be connected to each other.

    Good luck ??

@ijjimem thanks, have tested this already, but without success… have you connected GA4 to General Analytics or the other way round or vice versa?

    Hi!

Can you provide me with steps on how to setup UA alongside GA4? Because I honestly don’t really understand what you’re aiming at here. :+)

    Hi back,

Communication is the illusion that it has occurred ??

my question is: can CAOS plugin gather data from both UA and GA4? I have tested to add Google Analytics Tracking ID G-xxx in Basic settings and G4tag.js under advanced settings, and also adding Google Analytics Tracking ID UA-xxx and analytics.js without success.

    best, K

    Hi W,

    That clarifies things. ?? Thanks!

Short answer: No, CAOS can’t do that. ?? It’s either GA4 or UA. Could you provide a use case why that would be a useful feature? Then I’ll consider adding it. ??

    1. the dumbest and at the same time truest of all answers: because a client of mine wants it
    2. because a comparison of data from UA and GA4 is a good learning and therefore not without sense
    3. and: because it is not possible with CAOS plugin, but with tracking code in header/footer it can be done.

Well, since you make such a convincing argument ?? I started browsing around the interwebs and found this.

According to Google’s documentation we should be able to run them both in paralel by simply providing the GA4 ID in a second config attribute.

So, I made this mini plugin which should do the trick!

Let me know how it goes!

thanks, Daan – tested it, did not work and even having deleted the mini-plugin and CAOS (removing all data from CAOS) and re-installed CAOS, CAOS plugin is not adding UA-code (checked in the source code) anymore and stopped working ??

    Page cache?

first thing I did – checked the SQL (I know, there is a seeting in advanced section to erase all data when uninstalling), but still found some data, probably because I am using CAOS happily for years now.

re-installed and here we go, the magic happens ?? ??

So, we’re good. It works now?

Btw. You did insert your G- tracking ID into the code of the plugin?

good is the prename, its close to perfect ?? and yes, have adapted G-XXXXXXX in caos-ga4-ua.php in order to help Mr. Google to understand who I am.
