I can not reproduce the issue. On my localhost test website, I was able to set another unit from the dropdown. I have also tried setting different units for different sides and it works fine. Besides, I can’t any group block on your content of the shared page. Make sure you’re saving changes. or if your changes are not showing on the frontend please clear the cache.

Well, ok, I cleared cache and saved changes:

Well, maybe it’s after all an issue of Bricksy theme…?

Are you not able to choose a unit which means when you click on units the dropdown does not close and the unit does not change?

When I click, the dropdown opens and stays, I select a different unit than the preselected px but it jumps back to px and the dropdown closes. So, the dropdown works normal.

First, empty all the input then set the values, they might have limits for different units. for example as per your screenshot if you set 100px and change to 100em to that’s 1600px with 16px base that is invalid so maybe it’s falling back to px in this case.

… the dropdown works normal, just the unit won’t change. Like in the screenshot the unit em is selected (blue hovering) but when I click it nothing changes, there’s still px selected.

Can you please open developer tools and then try to change the values from the dropdown and check if there is an error showing when you change the unit?

If not then switch to the default theme and try changing units to identify if it’s theme related issue.
Also, disable plugins one by one and check if any of the plugins are conflicting with this thing.

    … just crossed your post…

Well, yes, you are totally right, in that case it’s nonsense to put 100em. So, this is not a good example which I shared here.
But it even does not work with 1em or 1%.

In my Developer tool I just exchanged the unit px with the unit em and set it to 1em. I could see this change of the padding in my content.
I’m not sure if one of the errors in my screenshot are somehow important for this issue?

You can see your auto-post is failing, You can go to the Network tab in Dev tools, then Choose Fetch/XHR then in filter input type autosave you will get the filtered data to click on that autosave rows, then goto Response tab and see if the error message is printed there.

If not then enable Debug to log in wordpress and then repeat the dropdown change then check your error log there must be something that can tell you what is going wrong.

I think, I found the bug:

I just switched from Firefox to Chrome (MacOS 12.2.1) to have different Developer Tools available to do what you advised me to do.

The droptown and setting units work in Chrome but not in Firefox!.

I did not yet do the “Fetch/XHR” stuff, I can do that tomorrow. I guess this can do no harm to get things working smooth, no?

So, maybe I should switch all my WordPress editing to Chrome…

Maybe you have extension issues or some sort of policy issues on Firefox. Can’t say much on this.

Well, I will most likely have a look at this within the next few days if only because it gives me no peace not to know the cause of this issue ??
    I will post the results.

For now, thank you so much for your support and all your valuable input and time!

    Good luck with that.
