• Hi there,

I’m not quite sure the best way to express the issue I am having, so apologies if my question is convoluted.

I am creating a marketplace style site. For each of the ‘vendors’ I have added another plugin to work as a ‘Store Locator’ but this requires again creating the vendors in a second place. And I also want to add profile pages for each of these vendors.

There isnt an intuitive way to consolidate this functionality, so I am creating the vendor in one place, but adding in the location for the locator functionality, and adding in the improve profile functionality.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    TIA

  • That plugin may have way more features than you really need… I’d just forget the plugin…

Instead… Create a drop down menu item with ‘Store locator’ as a dummy entry at the top and the links to the store under that.

If that then becomes unwieldy later you might divide it into product or genre-based ‘categories’ with stores linked under those ‘category’ dummy entries in a third level dropdown.

    Hi @jnashhawkins

Thanks for the quick and thoughtful reply! The site is intended to become a directory of sorts, and the key function I wanted from the locator was a filter for people to find the stores nearest to them.

The customer might look at what is near to them and browse what they sell.
    or
Have a product they want and find the nearest store that sells it.

My issue is integrating that functionality in to existing stores.

    Thanks again!
