“Unique headers” became “Spam destroyer” with the latest update causing a “critical error” on my WordPress-Site. I had to delete the (wrong/not wanted) plugin manually to reactivate my site. – Even here on www.remarpro.com clicking on links to “unique headers” leads to “Spam destroyer” plugin. What happened?

Question to the developer: By deleting the plugin manually via FTP will there remain any database-entries of the deleted plugin?

It’s back. I’m terribly sorry for the error. I inadvertently copied the wrong files into the trunk directory. If you upgrade it again, I believe the problem should fix itself.

Again, terribly sorry. This was a really silly mistake I made.

I deleted the plugin via FTP. Are there any DB-entries remaining, which I should clean up?

If you just reinstall the Unique Headers plugin, the issue should go away. If you need to strip stuff from the database, you can uninstall it, and the uninstall script should strip out any errant database entries, but if you plan to keep using the plugin, then that isn’t necessary.

I’m terribly sorry for the error. It won’t happen again.

Works fine again. Just a comment: The uninstall script did not delete the entries, the plugin writes to the database. In my case this was fine, so after reinstalling the plugin, the individual header images appeared as before. But if I wanted to uninstall the plugin permanently it would be nice to have the optional possibility to delete all database entries of the plugin, too. Maybe you could provide this optional feature in the future?

Oh, I see. You are of course correct. The uninstall script would strip out any options which are set, but not the individual meta data for each post.

I’ll add that as something I should add as a feature.

    Sorry for sharing false information.
