Uninstalling WP after Hacked event
-
Hello. Well, it finally happened. Most of my sites were set to automatically update when new releases came out, however some were not. But, this made no difference to the hackers. They got all the web sites and broke all of them. The posts and pages are still there, but they can’t be viewed. I was able to get some help to fix most of them, but I have some that are still not functioning, and it seems each of them has a different problem.
There are files like bad.htm and some other stuff that maybe doesn’t look right in the directory structures.
They are all on the same hostgator account (baby croc).
I don’t know enough about this stuff, and I tried to hire help, but the help didn’t know about it either.
So, one of the sites the passwords has been changed, so I don’t even know if all the posts and pages are still there. That is Brokenbars.com.
The others give a missing index.php and child theme errors. I have updated them to the latest versions of WP but it didn’t fix the problems as it did in some of the other sites.
So, If someone wants me to pay them to help great! The budget is small though. Other wise I need to know if I uninstall wordpress on any of the sites, will it also delete all the content? This is an issue because the backups were lost in a flooding event and life hasn’t permitted me to work on it for a long time.
