• I just tried to deactivate and uninstall the Role Scoper plugin. My admin account logs in fine, but for every other user we have this error message: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

    I’ve deleted RS from my database too and the message persists. What am I doing wrong/what do I need to do to uninstall it and go back to the way WP was before the installation?

  • Role Scoper’s role and restriction settings are all plugin-bound. It does not make any changes to WordPress role definitions that remain after you deactivate the plugin. However, basic WP role editors such as User Role Editor and Members do make changes to the DB-stored WordPress role definitions.

    Maybe you used one of those plugins to remove some capabilities from a WP Role – fine if you’re using Role Scoper to supplement the capabilities selectively, but bad for you (and the Role Scoper developer) when you later deactivate RS and wonder why its removal has “broken” your site.
