Uninstalling causes whole site to crash! – not so super!

I had to resort to tech support through Bluehost (my domain host) to fix this and we had to restore the whole site from a backup after trying to uninstall the WP Super Cache plugin (using the plugin uninstall button).
We also tried using the documentation in ‘Other notes’ but that didn’t work either.
Thankfully my site has been restored, but I won’t be installing this plugin again.
