Uninstalled WordPress Social Ring: 1.3.2 but icons and code still showing

I had WordPress Social Ring: 1.3.2 installed, but decided to deactivate it and uninstall it prior to installing Sassy Social instead. I needed an up to date plugin that was SSL compatible.
However, despite the uninstall, there is still code and icons showing on blog posts from WordPress Social Ring.
I’m not using any cashing.
How do I do a clean uninstall and remove the icons, http: references and left over code?
