I think some other programmers were messing around, but everything was working fine until >SOMETHING< happened. From what I can tell:

    1. There was an Events page, at /events/, and the only code in it was [fullcalendar]. It correctly showed the full calendar of events in a monthly view.
    2. There was another Events page, at /events-2/, and the only code it contained was CONTENTS.
    3. There were three other pages: -Locations, -Categories, and -My Bookings, all under the second events page, and all with CONTENTS as code in their pages.
    4. These three other pages were edited so that their parent page was the first event page, and their slugs were changed from /events-2/ to /events/.
    5. The /events-2/ page was deleted.
    6. Now both widgets don’t show any events. The ‘Upcoming Events’ widget just says “No events.”, while the text code widget using the shortcode shows nothing at all (except the widget title).
    7. I tried resetting the settings (Events-> Settings-> General-> Admin Tools (Advanced), but that did not fix anything.
    8. I then tried uninstalling the plugin from Events-> Settings-> General-> Admin Tools (Advanced), but got a 505 internal server error.
    9. Went to plugins page and deactivated it, then uninstalled the plugin.
    10. Deleted the Events page (/events/).
    11. Permanently deleted all previously created /events/ or /events-2/ pages.
    12. Reinstalled the plugin.
    13. Recreated an Events (/events/) page.
    14. Calendar still shows up fine at /events/. In fact, none of my recurring events were deleted.
    15. Widgets still don’t show events.

Sorry if this is long-winded. I wanted to get down the steps taken as best as I could. Any ideas of what I can do?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

if you have another events page e.g. /events-2 then you can try to delete duplicate page at WP Pages and then re-assign the remaining events page at Events > Settings > Pages

I deleted all events pages in steps 10 and 11 that I outlined previously. After reinstalling the plugin, I recreated a new Events page (/events/) and assigned it at Events>Settings>Pages. Still not working.

OK, strange. I went back to then Events>Settings>Pages page, selected the Events page, and then saved the change. Now the widgets are working. Except for one strange thing: I have it set to show Future Events, but the first event that displays has no title but only a date: January 1, 1970. I did not add it, and I don’t remember it from the first time I added this plugin. How do I delete it? I can’t see it in the list of Events, even when I filter by Past or All.

have you tried checking table wp_em_events for unknown events?

Since I started another thread for this specific issue, I will mark this thread resolved.
