    Hi,

UpdraftPlus is not designed to be installed on a WordPress Multisite, unless using the Multisite add-on.

If you are using this add-on, please can you submit a support ticket on the UpdraftPlus paid support form? We cannot answer questions on premium features here.

I guess I misread your site, but I could have sworn that it said it supported multisite. Unfortunately, I am not a paid customer, and as such your paid support form won’t let me submit a ticket.

    Hi,

I’m afraid that the free version of UpdraftPlus does not support multisites.

You should be able to manually deactivate the plugin via FTP. To do this, go to ‘wp-content/plugins’ and rename/remove the ‘updraftplus’ directory. Then reload your wp-admin plugins page.

    Hi,

Apologies; my colleague didn’t quite give the right advice. The free version does support Multisite; but without having the code necessary to differentiate between admins and super-admins. As long as all your admins are trusted, then that’s fine. (It also lacks some features that the paid version has, such as the ability to restore a single site instead of the whole install, or to import a single site into the multisite).

It’s a bit weird that de-activating causes a problem. When WP de-activates a problem, the result is that it stops running any of that plugin’s code. A problem that comes from *not* running code doesn’t make much sense! If you turn on WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php, then instead of a blank screen, hopefully you instead get an error message. What is the error message?

    David,

Thank you for the clarification. I thought I was going nuts! Anyway, I took your colleague’s advice and removed the plugin via the command line. It is now fine. I will continue to review the plugin (the Premium version that is!) to see how it applies to my site.

Thanks again for the prompt response.
