I deactivated and deleted Contact Form 7 and Really Simple CAPTCHA, but the comment form still displays the fields for CAPTCHA input. For registered users this message still displays: “Registered user do not need to go through CAPTCHA test”. Is this leftover code from Contact Form 7 or Really Simple CAPTCHA? How to I revert to the base comment form?

  • Would you please provide us with more precise information?
If you’ve uninstalled the plugins, since everything’s generated from the CF7 db table, I don’t think they will have leftovers.
You might want to check the db structure and see if it still exists.

“Registered user do not need to go through CAPTCHA test” is not from Contact Form 7 nor Really Simple CAPTCHA. Probably other plugin or theme does.

Thanks digitz and takayukister. I found my dumb mistake. I had previously installed the Simple CAPTCHA plugin. I later deactivated it, but hadn’t deletee it from my wp-includes folder. When I deleted it, the message went away.
