    Hi,

Thank you for this great plugin. I have one minor problem with the Turkish characters. When user enters a Turkish character like “?”(g with a hat) It shows posts with the letter “g”, which they are alike but not identical. Or “?” (letter o with two dots) and “o” are different in Turkish Language, but both of them give the same results.

How can i overcome this issue. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

Thank you for your kind words!

Unfortunately this is more of a database table collation problem. As far as I know WordPress tries to use the utf8mb4_unicode_ci collation, which is a multibyte, unicode case insensitive, accent insensitive storage. Accent insensitive means, that search type queries will match similar characters as you mentioned above.

I believe it might be possible to change this collation to utf8mb4_turkish_ci which might result in better accent sensitivity. However I would only recommend this if you know how to do that, and know how to back-up the database as well.
