HI, when running a backup I am getting:
“Unfortunately there was an error creating your backup. Update protection is not available.”

    “Cannot close ZIP archive file”

    Please advise. Thanks!

Hi @dada1978 I’m sorry to hear about the “Cannot close ZIP archive file” error you’re getting, and I really appreciate you taking the time to post in the forums here and let us know about it!

I created a video to say hi and ask some follow up questions, if you could watch it that would be great! https://youtu.be/yVeTQX7SKqQ

But, in summary of the video, I had 3 items:

    1. Can you supply a copy of the latest log? It could have more info in it for us. You can find it in Total Upkeep > Tools > Logs.
    2. Are you running a Caching plugin, such as W3 Total Cache, or any plugin that’s out of the norm?
    3. Also, if System Zip is available, you can try creating a backup with that and see if you get different results. You can go to Total Upkeep > Settings > Backup Process > Compressor to find this setting.

Again, I appreciate you opening up the discussion about this error message – we’re happy to help!

For 2. I have W3 Total Cache activated. How would I omit the caching files to be included?

Update: I changed the compressor to System zip and the backup seems to have worked this time without an error! Thanks for the tips!
