Unfortunately not working with most recent gravity forms/woocommerce

    Hi there,

    I am using the most up to date G.Forms and woocommerce.

    I am also using the gravity form woo-commerce add on to allow gravity forms to calculate prices inside woo commerce orders, for event registration purposes.

    I have recently found out that this extension creates duplicate entries as a “failsafe” but unfortunately, as its being used for event registration, duplicate entries are not what we want at all! Particularly as we have choices within the form with limits attached to them, and are getting 2 choices taken with each single submission!

    Anyway, the plugin developers are not willing to address this, and then I found my way to your plugin, hoping it could provide a fix, but unfortunately, after install and activation, I still get 2 submissions each time a form is submitted.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I’m assuming you’re talking about the WooCommerce Gravity Forms Extension from WooThemes, correct? You’re right, based on the FAQ it’s intentional:

    Why are duplicate entries created?
    The Gravity Form add on does multiple calculations and processes the data twice to make sure everything is working before adding it to the cart. This is why there are two entries. The good news is that you don’t need to use the form entries screen. All relevant information should be included in the order.

    Unfortunately, Gravity Forms Duplicate Prevention won’t be able to help you there (this plugin was designed to prevent duplicate submissions from someone clicking the submit button multiple times), not a plugin manually creating duplicate records. If you’re willing to dig into the code handling the actual price calculations you might find a good point to manually remove the second entry (Gravity Forms has great documentation on the hooks and filters used by the plugin), but that does seem odd that they’re intentionally keeping two active records. It sounds like you’ve talked to the developer of the extension – did you present this particular use case?
