• I am using the latest URE Pro (4.55) with WP5 on a multisite, and URE is network activated. I have created a new user role, and updated its permissions. One of the permissions it should have is unfiltered_html, which I can see and add by viewing deprecated permissions.

I have unfiltered HTML turned on in the multisite tab at the network level, and did Update Network.
I have unfiltered HTML checked on the role in my site admin’s user permissions in the subsite.
I have the correct role assigned to the correct user.
The only relevant plugins I’m using are ACF, Multisite Enhancements, and WordFence.
My parent theme is Responsive from CyberChimps.

The user still cannot add iframes or other kses-restricted elements to posts and pages.

I noted in the change log that unfiltered_html was marked as deprecated in 2013, and was updated to the “general” capabilities group in 2017. However, I expected it to still be working.

Does URE override WP5’s unfiltered_html restriction? Is there perhaps something I’m missing?

I re-tested and confirm URE overrides WP5’s default restriction of ‘unfiltered_html’ capability for multisite configuration. But you should not have DISALLOW_UNFILTERED_HTML constant defined.
URE replaces “do_not_allow” back to ‘unfiltered_html’ via map_meta_cap filter.
I even tested with WordFence plugin together in assumption that it may be related, but the feature still works as expected.

So I can not repeat the issue. Try temporally deactivate all plugins. Will it change something?
