Unexpected Text in Site Title

    So my site just put in unexpected text in my site title. So right behind the tagline, in the site title there is the text “-12345”. Any ideas as to why this may be occurring, or more importantly how I can remove it.

    I looked through the header.php nothing sticks out as wrong there but I’m far from good at reading code.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Sounds like, a good place to start trouble shooting.

    That did it, I deactivated all of the plugins one at a time to see if that alone would fix it, it did and i figured out which plugin it was. Then when re-activated it the problem was gone so it must have just needed that little kick.

    Could you let us know exactly what plugin caused your problem? It may help someone else over the next few days.

    Narrowed it down to 2 actually
    Most likely
    “Wordfence Security“
    possibly
    “WordPress SEO”

    Thanks. I’ll keep a look out for any other reports of these plugins causing issues.
