I am writing to report a bug I encountered with the WooCommerce Google Analytics plugin. When browsing products on my website, the view_item event is correctly triggered. However, I have noticed that the add_to_cart event is also triggered simultaneously, even though I have not clicked the “Add to Cart” button.

This issue results in inaccurate tracking data, which affects my analysis and reporting.

    Hi @asdasd070511

The issue you described, with the add_to_cart event triggering without interacting with the “Add to Cart” button, is indeed unusual.

I recommend clearing your browser and site’s cache, which can sometimes resolve such issues. If the problem persists, please provide us with more details so we can test or reproduce it on our end.

Additionally, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear
    • Product lookup tables – Regenerate
    • Regenerate the product attributes lookup table – Regenerate

Please also ensure that your plugin, theme, and WordPress are all updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, compatibility issues between different versions can cause unexpected behaviors.

I hope this helps! Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
