• Hi, love nextgen gallery!
I created a gallery which takes up 4 pages, but some of the images have large gaps between each image and some are close together. Some gaps are so large to the extent that I have half of a row missing images, just a big gap and then the next row might be nice and neat, all the way along, etc
I realise that this can be because the captions are too long but in a lot of instances they aren’t, so it must be something else causing this?
How can I rectify this please? Thanks ??

@joanne2307 – A link to an example of this may be useful, but I believe you are on the right path with the captions as part of the root cause of this.

You may need to add some Custom CSS (see under Gallery > Other Options > Styles) to address the caption widths.

If you check out this gallery https://abbeyandjade.co.nz/our-photos/ it goes for 4 pages.
Even when there are no captions or shorter captions, it still leaves big gaps sometimes between photos and other times, its fine.
I dont know how to do custom css to correct anything so would need you to tell me how to do that, thanks. ??

@joanne2307 – That would a combination of captions and no captions that are causing the very large (looks like a missing line) breaks, while the bigger spaces are more due to the size of the caption and not be contained beneath the image. This is what I was referring to with the need for some Custom CSS.

The “missing” line is just coincidental in this case but may correct itself with the Custom CSS.

Thanks, so what do I put for the custom css? Can you please explain where I go in the wordpress dashboard (is it editor?) and what I actually write and where in order to correct this thanks.
