Undisclosed 30-Day Free Trial

    Hello, @elninoakin (plugin developer),

    I installed the plugin about a week ago. Then all of a sudden, I see this on my dashboard:

    Your Hubtel Payment Plugin will expire in 22 days. Get a premium version of this plugin to keep enjoying all the features and updates for only GHS100

    So this seems to be a 30-day free trial, though this is not disclosed anywhere at all in the plugin’s description.

    My questions:

    1) Since you mention PREMIUM VERSION, what features are disabled after the 30-day trial if one does not upgrade to the PREMIUM version?

    2) Why have you chosen not to disclose ANYWHERE in the plugin’s description that this is a 30-day free trial of the premium version?

    Don’t get me wrong… I appreciate your work and have no qualms paying the GHS100 even if for no reason other than to support you and encourage you to continue your good work. Except that I deem such behavior by plugin developers very unethical.

    I can see there’s disclosure on the description page now:

    PS: You’ll be given a 30-Day trial period, afterwards you will be need to purchase a premium version.

    But PREMIUM VERSIOn carries the idea that if you don’t upgrade you’ll be on a FREE or LITE version. Is this the case? Will the plugin continue to work with reduced functionality if one does not upgrade? If so, what will work and what will not work?

    Hi George,

    Thanks for the feedback.

    The first time the plugin is installed, you are given a 30-day trial period. This period allows you use all features of the plugin and decide if you want to use it on your live website.

    After the 30 days, all features are disabled till you purchase the premium version.
