  • I want to know if the menus displayed are categories or pages – what are pages and what are categories on this blog?

It can be difficult to determine because of the marvelous flexibility of WP and how you can structure sites the way that you want to, but in most cases generally speaking “Pages” are a page of static content, like an “About Us” page or a “Contact Us” page, whereas Categories would be pages that aggregate a lot of content that is grouped by a particular topic (category), so you’d see a listing of posts on a category-style page.

Also, the front page, unlike my blog, doesn’t display the message ‘Home – The Travel Reader’ in the tab of the browser. Why? Isn’t it a custom made page too?

WordPress by default will show in the browser bar the Page name followed by your Blog (website) Name (the name you enter in Settings>General).

SO you likely have a page that you created and named “Home” that you set as your homepage (or your Theme did). On the other site they may be using a specific template file that creates their homepage without the need to create a specific Page for it, for example if they have a custom index.php file that sets up their page that way, they don’t then need a Page named Home.

There are several good SEO plugins that let you control what shows up in your browser bar, for your home page or any other page. All in One SEO Pack is one, Yoast SEO is another.

Also, how do all the articles on the blog fall uder https://www.natureworldnews.com/articles/….

They likely are just using a different permalink structure than you are – in your Settings>Permalinks you can have your site show the category name in your URL by using the CUSTOM box and changing it to this:
    /%category%/%postname%/
