• Hello everybody.

I hope that somebody could explain me dillema that I have aobut SEO.

So, this is situation. I optimized my front page (title, description and keywords) using code in header.php

So, as I understand, this is at the same time optimization for all my pages?

I don’t want to use SEO plugins anymore because they mess my code, and in last 3 months I haven’t seen any improvements on my google indexing using SEO plugins.

My question is next – how can I use different keywords, title and description for different pages, but only using html editor?

Or any other advice would be priceless.

    Thank you!

  • Whatever you change in header.php will be applied to all pages.

….which is probably not good SEO, since you want each page to have unique descriptions, not a generic description that is the same on each page. So yes, you’ll have to make it dynamic so that it uses different titles and descriptions for each page (keywords aren’t very relevant anymore nowadays).

My advice? Don’t re-invent the wheel, and use a popular SEO plugin. It’ll do all that for you.

    Thank you for quick answer!

I used “All in One SEO Pack” by Michael Torbert. This plugin is supposedly very good, but it hasn’t done anything for my page. Didn’t even put right description beneath page title in google search.

This is very frustrating. I’m from Croatia, and there is practicly no market for things that I advert. So, here is great oportunity to place my page in Top 2 google search result for cca. 5-7 keywords. My page is running for some 4 months, and google still hasn’t put it high on search results.

I’m beginner in web design, so I’m sure that I have ignored some things by mistake (like register on Google Webmaster Tools, which I did just 2 days ago).

But also, I have read a number of tutorial for wordpress beginners, html beginners and SEO tutorial and I’m positive that pretty much everything has been covered. But for some reason this still isn’t working.

Do you have any tips, advices on my problem? Again, any kind of help wolud be priceless.

    Thank you!

A plugin can only help with SEO — it won’t do the full job and you can’t expect any plugin to get you to the top of Google search results.

You need to have great content, you need other sites to link to you, and so on; things that plugins can’t do. Plus, some things you can’t control.

If you’re really that concerned about getting high on Google results, you may want to look into hiring some SEO professionals/experts.

Remember, SEO is like marketing (to name just an example); it’s not an exact science and takes skill and tailoring.

    thanks!

Only 20 % of SEO is happening on your website.

The rest comes from how other people use your website, link to it and share it on social media platforms.

And, as Senff said, stick to one of the well known SEO plugins and keep build, and market, a great website.
