Hello, jetpack statistics is a nice addition but he does not understand the links from the very popular forum plugin Asgaros wordpress – always shows only the address of the forum page but not the individual tempers that have other links.

Maybe it’s worth to consider the quality because the forum type is probably the most populous wordpres.

  • Hi @danishsard,

always shows only the address of the forum page but not the individual tempers

Just to check I’ve understood — are you querying why the top level forum URL is being displayed in referrers, rather than individual forum thread URLs?

The forum is located on the site
The address in the jetpack statistics always poses the address of the page from the forum and not post the forum as someone browses it.

Forum page-id1 and someone is watching page-id1-topisc20
‘It will still show the jetpack page-id1 and only this one.

Just like the shares are available – they take out page-id1 instead of post subject in facebok, pinterest, etc.

That looks like it will be normal for the forum plugin you’re using.

Your forum is treating everything as if it’s part of Page ID 2, for example infomiasto.eu/?page_id=2&view=topic&id=25 for one of the threads. Therefore, Jetpack’s stats only ever see views to Page ID 2 (the Forum page).

    I noticed this as well:
    https://www.asgaros.de/support/topic/forum-not-seo-friendly/

Once the forum links are SEO friendly, Jetpack will track those as separate pages in its stats.

    Hoping that helps!

I have dynamic links in wordpres ie (default) will it work with something like that?

@danishsard can you make it display forum threads in a friendly format than this?

    infomiasto.eu/?page_id=2&view=topic&id=25

the entire site has default wordpress links change to lead to a drastic change so it is not possible for them to change their forum because you need for the whole page

If that is the case, then we will not be able to track forum elements individually.

The issue, once /?page_id=2 is part of the URL, that’s all that Jetpack will recognize, Page ID 2.

There is no way around this.

Other WordPress forum plugins, like https://bbpress.org/ use custom content types, meaning that each thread is its own content type and would therefore be tracked separately.

Your forum plugin is placing everything under the same page, Page ID 2, therefore we can only track everything as the same page.

I understand, I will thank you for your help. Maybe over time I change links to others because it also has a lot of chaos that does not work in plugins when links are implicit. greetings

Hello, I have changed the address to a friendly one and the jetpack also does not see the addresses of the individual page, only tracks them as the first page on which the forum is.

Hm, I get the sense that it’s all still running on Page ID 2, despite the permalinks.

Would you please check with your forum plugin’s support to find out if there’s any way to get topics under their own ID, the same way bbPress and other forum plugins do it?

Jetpack stats use the unique post, page, and custom post type IDs to track unique items. If everything for the forum is loaded under Page ID 2, we’re just going to count it all as Page ID 2.
