Underscore inserted into ‘media’ file name?

    I have started to use WordPress for my personal site. I just uploaded a ‘media’ file and for some reason WordPress changed the file name. The file I uploaded was named ‘Fish.tcl.gz’, but WordPress changed that to ‘Fish.tcl_.gz’. Why did it do that? I am using Techozoic Fluid 1.8.7 by Jeremy Clark, with no plugins at present.
