Hello! I installed the Connections plugin because I needed a directory that I can protect from public access. I set up a message to show to non-logged in users, but I can’t make it appear on the website. I have

    1. “Login Required” setting checked
    2. Both “Shortcode Visibility Overrides” unchecked
    3. A page with the [connections] shortcode on it (no parameters.)
    4. That same page set as the Connections page under the Connections settings
    5. Two entries, one set to public, one set to private (just for testing.)

When I’m logged in, both entries show up. When I’m logged out, neither show up (as expected), but my custom Require Login Message doesn’t show up, and instead shows “No Results.” I tried a few different variations of settings, but no matter what, I can’t find the right conditions for the Require Login Message to appear. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you for the help!

    Cheers,
    Randy

Are you using a page caching plugin? If you are, please try flushing the page cached and then view the page logged out. Does that resolve the issue?

Nope, no caching plugin. I have other plugins installed, none of which have a caching functionality as far as I know. To be sure as well—I deactivated every plugin except Connections Business Directory—but when not logged in I still have the “No results” message instead of my Require Login Message I set up.

This is odd, simply enabling the option the “Login Required” setting should make the message show when not logged in.

Can you please share a link to the directory page so I can take a look?

Can you also share a screenshot of the General tab on the Settings admin page?

    Sure, here’s the URL: https://fpcd.rb.gd/church-directory/

And screenshot of the settings page: https://i.imgur.com/o5JEenC.png

It’s just a testing site for now really, so if you want, I can just make you an admin account on the site too, if it’ll help.
