undefined pll_current_language('name')

    Since I installed the newest version 1.6.4 of the plugin, I get the following error message on my site from the functions.php in my child theme:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function pll_current_language() in …/functions.php

    How come, how to resolve????

    It seems it had to do with calling pll_current_language from within functions.php: the site couldn’t be launched because this plugin first had to be reactivated. But to activate it, I needed to launch the site. So, what comes first? I changed the function call to get_bloginfo(‘language’) and oploaded with ftp to get the site working again.
