    I use Photonic to embed images from Flickr into my WordPress site. I use the plugin in 2 places: to display a collection from wordpress (multiple galleries) and to embed specific galleries into news posts.
    I use Flickr’s description field as a caption for the images, when needed (it is rarely needed to use captions for photos on the website). So far, if there was no description set for a photo in Flickr, there was no caption field displayed on the wordpress site.

    This is still the case in the collection view, there is no caption displayed for photos with no desciption (shown here: https://www.sztimre-bgy.sulinet.hu/kepgaleria-balassagyarmat/). However, in the gallery embed view (when I embed a specific gallery into a post, for example), every photo has a caption, the ones that don’t have desciptions set in Flickr, display the text: “undefined”. I don’t know what caused this, but it was working fine when I first set this up in February (and no setting was changed since).

    The specific settings in Photonic are:
    In Photonic->”Flickr” tab->”Flickr settings”:
    Photo titles and captions: —–> “Always use photo description/caption, even if blank”

    In Photonic->”Generic options” tab->”Generic settings”:
    Inbuilt Lightbox libraries: ——–> “Fancybox”

    What is causing this, and how can I go back to the original behaviour?

    Thanks!

    I tried the exact same settings as you and was able to display things without conflict. My guess is that you have a second instance of Fancybox running (probably from a different plugin or your theme, and that is causing an issue). Basically the alt tag of your photos has “undefined” there, and while Photonic has been configured to ignore it (Photonic pulls from the title tag, which is blank), it looks like the other instance of Fancybox is being called and that cannot ignore it.

    Yeah, that was the issue, thanks.
    I also had the “Easy FancyBox” plugin installed and enabled. Right after I disabled it, the problem disappeared. Now, I have to figure out a solution to have them both enabled without these problems (because I need the other plugin for other purposes, as well ?? ).

    Anyway, thanks for the quick help! ??

    Well, Photonic can use its lightbox for other (non-Photonic) images too, if that is the capability you desire. You can enable the option, Photonic → Settings → Generic Options → Generic Settings → Photonic Lightbox for non-Photonic Images.

    Thanks for the heads up, I was just about to start trying the other way around (using the other one for Photonic galleries), but this way it is much easier. ??

    Now everything works as it sould be, thanks for your help once again!
