    Hi!

I just discovered a potential issue with the link uncloaking:

When the adblocker in my browser (ublock in Firefox) is active, ThirstyAffiliate’s javascripts don’t run. First I noticed it in the editor (it causes an Error
Failed to load plugin url: /wp-content/plugins/thirstyaffiliates/js/lib/thirstymce/editor-plugin.js
whenever the “Disable TA buttons in visual editor” check isn’t set), but much more importantly, the adblocker prevents link uncloaking.

Meaning my uncloaked Amazon links are only compliant with their guidelines for users who are not using an adblocker… Which seems like kind of a problem? I’d assume whatever processes are used to check for compliance don’t run adblockers, but I’m still worried about this. Did anyone here have trouble with this?

    Hi @gio3141,

Browser extensions (like Ad Blocker or uBlock Origin) are causing the issue.
We’ve seen some recent changes in these add-ons where they’re getting more aggressive in their blocking.

They now appear to block any script with the word “affiliate” or “aff” in it.

Because our plugin folder is called “thirstyaffilites” these blockers are preventing our scripts from running because it matches “aff” or “affiliate”.

    Disabling them helps.

There isn’t really a way to get around the ad blocker if people have it, unfortunately.?

The only thing we can really suggest is using?the Pretty Links?plugin instead.
