    I’ve just setup Analytics for my WordPress blog, first i tried simply pasting the code into the header file…Google Status: Tracking Not Installed

    I’ve now tried 3 different plugins and all install the code, I can verify it’s there through the View Source on my website, but Google’s status remains unchanged at Status: Tracking Not Installed.

    I’ve heard it can take up to 24 hours for Google to start receiving data but shouldn’t it immediately detect the tracking code on the site?

    I haven’t been able to find this answer anywhere and just want to know if this is working so I can stop wasting my time troubleshooting if there isn’t a problem lol.

    The website in question is https://www.soundcheckblog.ca

    Thanks.

    Hello Hendrik,

    I see your code is correctly added. Yes, it may take up to 24 hours until you see data in your Google Analytics account but the installation can be checked by going to ‘Real-time’ Analytics report. Also, when checking visits, include today’s date as many users don’t do that.

    Anyway, let me know if it works.

    Thanks for the reply Audrius, it had started working through the plugin that I had installed but I wanted to add the demographic info to the analytics and couldn’t find the code. I turned off the plugin and added the code to the site normally and now it can’t find it anymore….I’d like to switch back to the plugin but can you tell me where I’d find the code so I can add the line that is missing? ga(‘require’, ‘displayfeatures’);

    ok I just tried to insert the custom code with the extra line into your plugin, the plugin seems to work so I’ll check back tomorrow I guess to see if this worked lol

    So I just checked and with the new code inserted real time data isn’t working now either. I don’t understand why this isn’t working correctly, I check the source code on the site and it’s there so why won’t Google recognize it?

    ok I think it’s working now, was looking at the wrong analytics page lol.
