I’ve tested Simple Sitemap (free version 3.5.2) on PHP 8.0.12 and haven’t encountered any problems as yet. I can’t replicate your particular issue.

I’ve asked Freemius support for advice (I use the Freemius platform for plugin licensing and upgrades).

This issue is apparently to do with translations. I’ll be releasing a new version in the next few days which includes a fix for this.

FYI – This fix has been included in the latest release.
